Seahawks trade Kevin Norwood to Panthers for undisclosed draft pick

The Panthers have acquired wide receiver Kevin Norwood from the Seahawks for an undisclosed 2017 draft pick, the team announced Monday.Norwood was initially told he would be among Seattle's roster cuts Tuesday, though the team was able to reach an agreement with Carolina after the Panthers were bombarded by injuries to Kelvin Benjamin, Devin Funchess and De’Andre Presley.  MORE: Each team's best, worst offseason moves | Carolina has nice toy in Shaq Thompson "Kevin gives us another player to compete at the wide receiver position," general manager Dave Gettleman said in a release. "He has the size you look for along with toughness and smarts. We studied him a lot going into last year’s draft and we look forward to having him as part of our receiving corps." Norwood, 25, caught nine passes for 102 yards in nine games (two starts) as a rookie last season. The former Alabama standout tallied 81 catches for 1,275 yards and 12 touchdowns during his college career.
